Using the fiber cable

Using the fiber cable management system
To facilitate the installation of systems using fiber cables, the Fiber Cable Management System ensures that power cords are located outside of the cable tray. It also ensures that a 2.6 cm (1 in.) space exists between the ICS module and other modules.
The following hardware components are used in the Fiber Cable Management System:
• Fiber Comb (one per system): The Fiber Comb, is installed, using an adhesive back, on the ICS, below the fiber expansion cartridges. The Fiber Comb keeps the fiber cable in place and prevents the cables from being pinched between doors. Use the comb to keep fiber cables organized as they are routed to each Station Module, as shown in the 12-port example below.

STATION INDIVIDUAL CALL ROUTING (ICR)

STATION INDIVIDUAL CALL ROUTING (ICR)
Description
Station ICR is an extension of Call Forward where the user establishes a routing scenario. Each of the ten scenarios defines rules to route incoming calls based on Time, Day of week, Date and Caller ID to a destination defined by the User. Each scenario is assigned a priority of 0 to 9. When an incoming call is received at the station, the System will search the ICR scenarios entered by the User, then the call will routed according to the destination in the highest priority matching scenario.

Working with fractional PRI

Working with fractional PRI Installer password required
When you purchase PRI from your service provider, you can request the number of B-channels that are allocated for you to use. For example, you may want to use only 12 B-channels instead of 23 B-channels. If this is your situation, you should disable all the B-channels that you do not need.
It is recommended that the number of lines that are deprovisioned on a DTI card (configured as PRI) be the same as the number of B-channels that are disabled. For example when B-channels 13-23 are disabled, you should deprovision lines 13 to 23.

EMERGENCY CALL E-911 (CALLER LOCATION) SUPPORT Description The Emergency Call E-911 (caller location) Support feature integrates the iPECS to a PBX ANI Link unit, such as from Tone Commander, to provide caller id and location information to an emergency center. When an emergency call is placed from a station of the iPECS, an assigned emergency CO Line is used to connect the ANI link unit. The iPECS sends the station number, four (4) digits, to the unit as DTMF digits. The ANI Link unit places a call to the emergency center over a connected CAMA trunk. Caller Id and location information from the ANI Link unit database is sent to the emergency center in the proper format and the station is connected to the call. This feature also provides a means to identify a Power Failure signal from the ANI Link unit. Typically, an ANI Link unit will incorporate a normally open contact that closes when power to the unit fails. If a Power Failure signal is detected, iPECS routes emergency calls via PSTN/ISDN circuits other than those marked for emergency call use until the Power Fail signal is removed. Operation Operation of this feature is automatic when assigned

CSU stats

CSU stats

Each DTI is equipped with an internal channel service unit (CSU). When enabled, the internal CSU monitors the quality of the received T1 signal and provides performance statistics and diagnostic information.
DTIs must be individually programmed to establish parameters for collecting and measuring transmission performance statistics by the CSU.
Statistics Installer password required
The CSU provides both performance and alarm statistics. Three performance parameters are accumulated:
• errored seconds (ES-P)
• severely errored seconds (SES-P)
• unavailable seconds (UAS-P)
These parameters are defined as per TIA-547A. Errored seconds are enhanced to include control slip (CS) events.
The parameters are stored for the previous 15-minute interval, the 15-minute intervals in the last 24 hours, and the previous 24-hour interval. Only near-end performance data is recorded.
The internal CSU continuously monitors the received signal and detects four types of transmission defects:
• any active carrier failure alarms (CFA) — loss of signal LOS, out of frame OOF, alarm indication signal AIS, remote alarm indication RAI
• the number of bipolar violations that occurred in the last minute
